A significant general strike disrupted daily life across the Israeli Occupation on Monday, including at its main international gateway, Ben-Gurion Airport.

The strike was organized by the Histadrut, “Israel’s” largest trade union, in response to the recent deaths of six captives held in Gaza and the perceived failure of the government to secure their release.

The strike, the first of its kind since October 7, aimed to impact various sectors, including banking, healthcare, and transportation.

At Ben-Gurion Airport, outgoing flights were delayed or canceled during a two-hour window, while incoming flights proceeded as usual.

Many banks, government offices, and public transport services were halted or limited.

In cities like Tel Aviv, municipalities participated in the strike, leading to reduced school hours and closures of public daycare centers.

The decision to strike followed a weekend of intense public mourning and protests, where tens of thousands took to the streets.

The demonstrations came after the bodies of six captives were discovered in Gaza, fueling criticism against “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's handling of the captives negotiations.

Protesters are calling for Netanyahu to strike a deal to secure the release of the remaining approximately 100 captives, even if it requires making concessions to Hamas.

Many “Israelis” are demanding action to ensure the safe return of the captives, while others support Netanyahu's strategy of maintaining military pressure on Hamas.

Netanyahu pledged to achieve a “total victory” over Hamas and has accused the militant group of obstructing negotiations.

Hamas criticized both “Israel” and the US for prolonging talks with additional demands, including control over strategic areas in Gaza.
